Were any criminals capable of committing that act released from prison that day or month? Anyone know?
I had mentioned it before, but since this is a large thread I'll repeat it. This girl was supposedly about 15-16 years old. If this was a man with whom she was having an intimate relationship, he wouldn't want to be admitting it - especially in a prison.
Prison inmates have very few moral standards, but many of them have daughters and sisters. An adult male prisoner who is known to be in an intimate relationship with a girl in her early teens is sure to be a marked man, and might decide that the prudent thing to do would be to keep his mouth shut.
I would like to submit Tammy Jo Alexander as a possible match. Lassav, could you help me out with submitting this possible match to Dr. D? Tammy was recently reported missing and FB page set up for Tammy says DNA was recently obtained from her sister.

I think the problem with the length of Tammy Jo's hair would pretty much rule her out , right this girl had long hair and tammy's friend said when she left her hair was even shorter, so unless it grew that fast......?
Doe net has PM photos of Walker JD; I personally am not seeing it. Hair was 10in long no evidence of hair dye. Her friend said Tammy's hair was shorter then the school pic when school let out in May 79. Also; Tammy's sisters DNA "should be" run through the databases; if she is any of our JD's; they will catch it. Walker is in CODIS
I am not saying not to turn it in.
This is my reply from Tammys post.
I withdraw my suggestion that Tammy may be Walker County Jane Doe. Please forget I mentioned it. I would delete my post but it doesn't give me that option.
Just adding a bit of info that I learned today.
Tammy is being looked at by the Hernando County Sheriff's as a possible match to the two skeletal Jane Does found in serial murderer Billy Mansfield's property in Weeki Wachee Florida.
One of the two is discussed on this thread:
FL - Weeki Wachee, WhtFem UP12589, 20-30, 1 of 2 Buried w/2 ID'd Victims, Mar'81
Their interest in her case was in the context of that case. Apparently, there is some indication that Tammy knew the Mansfield brothers because they were frequent visitors to her parents' truckstop.
The problem with that theory is that both Jane Does are estimated to be between 20 and 30, and one of them had spina bifida.

I don't know. My presumption was that someone picked her up hitchhiking and killed her on her way to the prison facility, not away from it.
But I don't see any reason to rule out the theory that she met up with someone being released from the prison.
However, the person being released wouldn't have his own car. He would have needed transportation, and someone would have had to give both of them a ride away from the prison. So if that was the case, more than one person would have had to have been involved in her murder.
