that doesn't have to be true. I know a woman who was learning disabled and not very smart and she is very conniving and always scamming.

shes 40 years old already and never been caught for her scams. sued a few times though.

I think sometimes ppl may lack in one area and hone in another.

The only issue there is that she's also been described as street-wise, and gave off a feeling like she could pull off a con. That doesn't really jibe with her being learning disabled, IMO.

Agreed. Also where has it been said that she did not liking wearing shoes? I've only ever read that she was carrying a pair of shoes, but I've never seen it mentioned that she said she didn't like to wear shoes. Since she arrived at the truck stop by car and was found dumped by the highway I would think its reasonable to assume that she didn't plan to walk the entire distance to the prison, but intended to hitchhike there and if she couldn't find a ride at the Hitching Post, she would walk along the road until she found someone that would pick her up.

IMO she did not really look hispanic based on her morgue photos.

Keep in mind, though, that was referring to "Kathy." We don't know for sure if she was, in fact, WCJD.
Good point.

I am doubting that she intended to visit Ellis unit prison. The victim appeared to not only lack knowledge of its general location, but also general knowledge of how to visit some one there. There are many explanations for the apparent inconsistency ( learning disability, non disabled person prone to do things on impulse, left home in a hurry etc.).

Despite these possibilities, had she been in contact with the person she intended to visit, I think he would have ensured that she had very good information on visiting as many prisoners like visits, especially from young ladies.

Likewise, had she had contact with even friends or family, she would probably would have known in general terms that prisons have visitation days and procedures. She lacked basic knowledge, not a mere unawareness of say, the "no fish net pantyhose rule".

I wonder if Ellis unit was not her intended destination. Was there perhaps a rural night club near Ellis unit that she was too young to get into, thus told a lie about her destination to avoid unwanted questions? Or, was she visiting a local that lived near the prison and did not want to reveal information about him?

In the end, we will never know. I do, however, think that if she were going to Ellis, the conversation would have been: "I am visiting Ellis tomorrow morning. Do you know where I can spend the night?"

My statement that she did not like to wear shoes may not be accurate. Rather, an individual described as a run away in the Huntsville area at the rough time of the murder who had the victim's appereance was noted as not liking to wear shoes. This individual may not be the victim.

This is a painful longshot but I'll post it as food for thought.

Could she have been trying to reach Ronald Clark O'Bryan?

He gave five children, including his son and daughter, poisoned pixie sticks on Halloween night 1974 with the goal of collecting life insurance on his children. Timothy O'Bryan died but none of the other children ate their pixie sticks. No surprise Ronald O'Bryan was sentenced to death. O'Bryan was originally scheduled for execution on August 8, 1980 and was ultimately executed March 31, 1984.

She would have been about the same age as Timothy and may have even known him, and she arrived in Huntsville on Halloween night. Her motivation could have been to condemn him or ask him why he did it.

Sources say O'Bryan was held in the Walls Unit in Huntsville but other sources say that death row inmates were housed at Ellis.

It’s going to be 6:30pm in about ten minutes....37 years ago you were asking for directions to Ellis Prison Unit....37 years later all of us here on this thread are dedicated to finding out who you are.Who are you? What’s your story?Who is the monster that took your life?We will know...I truly believe someday this case will be cracked.Till then R.I.P....we love you WCJD.

I think someone here has mentioned being dismayed at WCJD after she was embalmed. I have to agree there.

Sorry, not getting what you mean by that? Do you mean dismayed that she was embalmed at all and if so, why?

Someone back in the thread mentioned that they didn't like the post-embalmed appearance and the fact that that photo was all that was available to at least one forensic artist.

That was probably me. The first drawing of her was based on that photo of her after embalming, which badly distorted her features.

I should add that in her book Forensic Art and Illustration, Karen T Taylor, (the artist who drew that first pencil sketch of WCJD) showed that image as an example of the shortcomings of working from a post-embalming postmortem photo

Sorry, I know nothing about postmortem photos and composites, so what exactly is inaccurate in the PM photo/sketch? Her face being so puffy? I realize she was beaten so she is swollen, I just didn't know if that was all it was, or if the embalming caused it too.

With regard to the post-embalming mortuary photo (as opposed to the coroner's photo), the flesh of her face is completely flattened out, and her jowls sagged. The smile lines between the nostrils and the corners of their mouth are completely gone, the eyes and lips are usually sewed shut, distorting their natural curves, their hair is usually styled in a manner different from their usual hairstyle, and the mortician's putty often covers over the natural contours. Also, the formaldehyde injected back into their bloodstream puffs up the face in different ways than than blood under normal blood pressure.

With the pre-embalming photos, there are distortions as well, but not as many as you see post-embalming.

I give up on trying to post long well throughout posts using my tablet because they never post before they timeout the page or something.

So as quick as possible: followed Carl's YouTube link up thread, ended up watching Cali/Tammy videos and Andes up on one feasting CarlK's involvement. Don't know how to post YouTube links. Sorry.

End of video narrator talking about finding calis killer and detective
S looking into a prison ministry connection and the truck stop Tammy worked at before she went missing.

Preinternet. Underground runaway assistance prgram gone bad because of a serial killer? Underground assistance prgram as guise for recruiting truck stop prostities? Wasn't really looking for a prison. Code for trying to say she's in the assistance prgram looking for a place to stay. Gets actual directions instead of the response to the code, so goes to the next truck stop? I can't ignore the similarities. One year apart almost to the day. Just like orange socks. Sorry if garbled sick of this tablet.

Would like to know if any witnesses alive who saw our JD get out of blue car and saw the man she was with. They have a suspect/person of interest sketch in calis case. Would like to see what our JD witnesses think of that sketch or if Texas truckstop regulars recognize the sketch.

Really guys. I generally have no imagination so when I come up with something like this, like feedback on whether this is way out there. Makes sense why she didn't follow the directions and went to the next truckstop. Trying to find out if she reached a truckstop that was part of the prison ministries system/ Underground Railroad. Preintnet so used codes?
