Police have been trying to track down Isabella Matthews and 23-year-old Andrew Jackson, the man she's believed to be with.
"I just want her home safe. I'm so scared he's going to hurt her," said her mother Meagan Matthews.
Police said they're "very concerned about [Isabella Matthews'] welfare." They attributed their concern to Jackson's criminal history, her age and how long she's been gone.
"I'm terrified for her safety. I really do not think she's been gone on her own volition," said Meagan Matthews. "I feel like she may have left willingly but not with the intention of staying gone."
"The man that she is with is very dangerous," said added.
"They told me the reason they couldn't do an Amber Alert was because she orginally left on her own," said Meagan Matthews, asserting that her daughter is a minor in danger and needs to be found.
Smithfield police said Jackson is wanted for felonious restraint from a previous situation. That's when someone unlawfully keeps someone else, without that person's consent or the consent of their parent or guardian, if underage.
"I ended up setting off the tip that got him arrested in August of this past year and I didn't think they'd let him out," said Meagan Matthews. "So I took my kids and I moved, and when he got out of jail, I ended up calling the police because I found out he was coming out to see my daughter."
Meagan Matthews said she and Jackson were previously in a relationship.
"He'd gotten really violent with me. He threatened my life and told me if I tried to leave, he'd kill me," she said.
"I love her and I miss her and I want her to come home," said Meagan Matthews.
