If not for the US Attorney's statement of Jan 2021... I'd otherwise say this would not go forward:

“This defendant allegedly gunned down an innocent man in broad daylight,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Prerak Shah. “I hope this case makes one thing crystal clear: If you carry a gun across state lines in order to commit violence, you will be subject to federal prosecution.”

IMO, this will likely be settled by a plea agreement once DL's defense team realizes their appeal on the murder case won't go anywhere.

As of today, the last docket entry on the federal gun charge was March 2021 when there was a Court Request for Recusal.

The man charged by the state with the October 9, 2020 murder of James Faith has now been charged with federal firearm crimes.

Every episode or article about this that I see I’m reminded of just how the people involved, she and Lopez included, just seemed to be decent people before this choice was made. No police records, all educated, by accounts Lopez was an honorable soldier, families that seem normal, etc and it leads to this.

When I think back to when this first happened, I can’t help but once again laugh at how hilarious the narrative was. A bunch of us called it out right away, which freaked out Jennifer (she was actually reading here).

For example, on December 29, 2020 the following text exchange occurred between Jennifer Faith’s cell phone and Darrin Lopez’s cell phone: 11:18 PM – Jennifer Faith to Darrin Lopez: “Did you read through any of that stupid “Websleuths” thread I sent you” 11:18 PM --- Darrin Lopez to Jennifer Faith: “I should have never read it” Your Affiant knows that “Websleuths” is an internet community that focuses on unsolved crimes and missing persons.

She’s as dumb as she is evil.
