So very sad.

I see two possibilities regarding this tragedy.

1) Someone drugged both women unbeknownst to them.

Or

2) They willingly took something that had unanticipated side effects.

Once the women were feeling the effects of the drug, Jessica may have decided to go for a swim and accidentally drowned or someone who drugged them assaulted and murdered Jessica.

Her friend is lucky to be alive. I hope that Jessica's sister might shed some light on whomever else was present at the house that night. I doubt that Jessica's friend who also seems to have been drugged will be able to remember much.

All of the above are just my thoughts based upon what has been reported in the news media so far.

Thinking the same. I did see a news article that stated no obvious signs of foul play so that leads me to believe it's likely drug related. So sad.

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas – The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a body found in Bayou Vista Friday night is a woman reported missing a few days earlier.

Jessica McDonald Gibson, 30, was found next to a bulkhead near her sister’s home on Lakeside Drive where she was last seen.
