Baker was 47 years old at the time of his disappearance, 5′ 11″ with brown, graying hair, blue eyes, with a slight scar over his left eye. He would be 75 years old now.

<<Baker was a prominent person in Borger. He was employed as a pharmacist in 1994.

Oddly, another Borger resident who lived near Johnny Lee Baker disappeared in January of 1993, David Glenn Lewis. Lewis was an attorney that disappeared from his home on Super Bowl Sunday and was found 11- years later as a deceased John Doe in Washington state. Are these cases related, probably not, but it seems weird.>>

Odd that only the garage door opener was missing. What could that mean?

The only thing I can think of is: if there were no signs of a struggle or a break-in, then Johnny could've been lured out of the house through his garage. Once he opened the door and stepped outside, he was taken.

One or more of his abductors, not wanting to leave the scene suspiciously obvious, came inside the house to close the garage door, only to realize he had accidentally touched it with his bare hands. So he took the garage door opener with him and exited the house through another door.

I don't know how feasible or practical it is to dismantle a garage door opener, but I guess if that's the only thing standing between you getting caught and making a clean getaway, you'll find a way to make it happen. Since it was near midnight, most neighbors would've probably been asleep so no one would notice.
