U.S. postal inspectors recently intercepted a package of child pornography DVDs that prompted a sting operation that led to the arrest of a Houston man at an apartment where his mother ran a day care.
The operation involved online chats in which the suspect, Jorge Luis Perez, 25, offered to trade illegal images with an undercover postal inspector, officials said.
He claimed through his conversations with the postal inspector, that he was manufacturing the child pornography, said Harris County Assistant District Attorney Eric Devlin. That he was making it with kids inside the neighborhood. He actually sent several DVDs of child pornography to that postal inspector in exchange for pornography that was going to be delivered to him through the mail.
A trade ensued and authorities descended on the southwest Houston apartment home Perez shares with his mother, Devlin said.
