Zachary Foyt was sentenced by a Brazoria County jury to life in prison and fined $10,000 in the grisly death of Jubal Alexander.

The father of the victim, Jubal Alexander Sr., released a statement to 12News stating:

"His mother and I are grateful for the sheriffs department for protecting the community, and bringing justice for our son. Thank you to the D.A. for helping us. Those people are our heroes."

Interesting summary of the case—the appeals court turning down all the different reasons why the defense said there should be a mistrial. The most interesting one—that it wasn’t fair to remove a juror, just because he was arrested for a DUI, and jailed. I hope that at least gave the judge a good laugh.
