A suspected Katy road rage shooter is back in jail after prosecutors say he spent months targeting the area’s female drivers.

Nicholas D'Agostino did it because he allegedly hates women, particularly female drivers, a Harris County prosecutor told a judge Thursday during the suspect's arraignment.

He shot at five women on the road — because he thinks only men should drive, Texas cops say

When he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from the shooting of a woman in Katy, Texas, he told authorities he had done it before — maybe five times, as the Star-Telegram reported last month.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office say that Dagostino has targeted female drivers specifically on the streets of Katy and the surrounding area, citing Facebook posts in which he describes female drivers as “incompetent” and writing “that their sole purpose is to give birth to male children,” according to those court documents.

He was arrested again Thursday, according to Harris County Jail records, after being released on bond three days earlier, in connection with the July attack on a 39-year-old woman as she drove down Mason Road in Katy.

A statement which was read at probable cause court last night included that D'Agostino thinks women "should stay home and birth male babies."

The judge has set his bond at $250,000.00. It has also been recommended that an 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. curfew is set for him in addition to wearing a GPS leg monitor.

Now here's a case I can pretty confidently jump on right from the jump and say that his claim of self-defense is absolute BS. There is not one situation that I have ever encountered that shooting an unarmed driver is considered a reasonable match of force.

ONLY PLACE I have ever dealt with something like this being allowed was when I was in Iraq and that was a war zone so yeah, this guy should have lawyered up and exercised his right to remain silent.

What a frightening & dangerous individual. He has shown, at least 5 times, that he poses a real danger to women. It is only a matter of time & opportunity before he kills someone, so let's hope the charge(s) change to attempted murder & he's convicted.

Lawyer: Suspected Katy road rage shooter seeking mental help

Nicholas D’Agostino was originally supposed to be arraigned Thursday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Instead, his attorney says he filed a motion to get Dagostino treatment from what he calls one of the country’s top psychologists.

“I’d say he’s suffering from some sort of depression, and he’s very regretful that any of this happened,” said Ken Mingledorff, D’Agostino’s attorney.

As of Thursday morning, D’Agostino remained in the Harris County Jail on a $200,000 bond. He’s due in court October 29.
