Matthew Davis, 32, admonished Angel Gomez, 20, for being disorderly in the parking lot of the Keene, Texas, restaurant at about 9:40 p.m. last Saturday. A physical altercation ensued, then the juvenile suspect, who is unnamed because they are a minor, allegedly shot Davis multiple times from the back seat of Gomez's vehicle, the Keene Police Department said.

A 12-year-old Texas boy was convicted last week of fatally shooting a Sonic Drive-In worker during a confrontation this spring, authorities said.

After a three-day trial followed by seven hours of deliberation, jurors in Johnson County found the Fort Worth boy guilty of murder in the May death of 32-year-old Matthew Davis, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office announced in an Oct. 8 Facebook post.

The boy, whose name was being withheld due to his age, is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday, the sheriff’s office said.
