A man killed in a hit-and-run accident this weekend was a "key witness" against Jamarcus Warren, who was recently convicted of killing two East Texas gang members in retaliation.

Ford, nicknamed "Bino," and Ms. Cardwell were to be key witnesses against Warren because they were not involved in the murders of Shaun Pickens and Andre Johnson but were present during some of the planning of the killings. Most of the witnesses in the case are incarcerated, Mrs. Sikes added.
