Circumstances of Disappearance:
Langwell, an employee at the Mobil Oil refinery, was last seen in her hometown of Beaumont, Texas on July 9, 1999. She called her teenage daughter around 5:30 PM and told her that she was going to visit a friend and that she would be home in about an hour. She failed to return home and has never been heard from again.

After hours passed and Langwell hadn't returned home, her boyfriend began driving around the city looking for her. Around 10:30 PM, he discovered her silver 1994 Nissan Altima abandoned in the parking lot of the now-defunct Eckerd's Drug Store at a shopping center on Dowlen Road and Phelan Boulevard or Phelan Avenue. Langwell's purse and car keys were missing, but her cellular phone, cosmetics, and other personal items were inside the car. There was no other sign of her at the scene, nor was there evidence of a struggle inside or around the vehicle.

Langwell's family members believe that she departed from the pharmacy with someone she trusted. They say it would be highly uncharacteristic of her not to make contact with her daughter for so long, as they were very close. Her loved ones believe Langwell's ex-boyfriend was responsible for her disappearance; the individual had reportedly threatened her and frightened her badly.

Prior to her disappearance, Langwell had told her sister that she might disappear, and told her where to look for her remains, but to disbelieve it if she heard that she committed suicide. Foul play is suspected in Langwell's case. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

The program series dives into Langwell’s personal relationships, which included her ex-boyfriend Terry Rose, who owned a local wrecker service, and her current love interest, a man she worked with, Ken Weatherford.
Investigators from the Beaumont police department and the team from “Cold Justice” reviewed old files in the case and re-interviewed the two main men in her personal life.

Langwell had been separated from Rose for more than six months; however, according to the program series, she was asked to stop by his house to pick up some personal items on the night of her disappearance. She had plans to have dinner with her daughter and Weatherford later that evening.

Langwell never made it to her dinner plans with her daughter and new boyfriend, but her 1994 Nissan Altima was found in the Eckerds parking lot at Dowlen and Phelan Avenue in Beaumont. No one saw her enter the Eckerds store, and there was no evidence of a struggle inside or around the Nissan, according to early reporting from the Beaumont Enterprise.

Investigators say today, the search yielded additional evidence linked to the 1999 missing persons case turned murder. Based on the additional evidence, an arrest warrant for the offense of murder was issued for Rose, of Beaumont. Rose was taken into custody at 6:15 p.m. tonight by the Beaumont Police Special Assignments Unit. He was brought to the police station and then driven to jail. He's held without bond until his arraignment Friday on the murder charge.

Texas EquuSearch finds human remains believed to be of woman missing for 25 years

After 25 years, authorities believe they have found the remains of Kimberly Langwell, who went missing in July 1999 and was feared to have been in danger.

On Thursday, EquuSearch founder Tim Miller and the Beaumont Police Department searched for Kimberly after receiving new information.

Officials said the human remains were ultimately found in the area of interest.

"Although positive identification is to be confirmed, the family of Kimberly Langwell will finally have some answers and may be able to start a new grieving process as they bring their beloved Kimberly home. We ask you keep them in your continued prayers," the organizarion said in a social media post.

In April of 2024, a reliable informant told police that Langwell's ex-boyfriend, Terry Rose, 67, admitted that she was murdered inside his home the same day she went missing, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Rose also reportedly admitted to burying her on his property.

On Friday his bond was set at $1 million by a Jefferson County Criminal Court Magistrate Marc DeRouen. If he makes bail he must wear a GPS monitor and not leave Jefferson County, DeRouen told 12News. Rose was arrested at 6:15 p.m., Thursday by the Beaumont Police Special Assignments Unit.

In April 2024 police talked to a "reliable informant" who told them that Langwell had been killed inside Rose's Lindbergh Dr. home on July 9, 1999, which is the same day she was last seen , according to a probable cause affidavit in the case. The informant also told police that Langwell had been buried on the property.

Police got a search warrant based on the information and began searching at the home on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Three days later, on June 13, police found human remains on the property, which they believe to belong to Langwell, according to the affidavit. The discovery was consistent with what the informant told police, the affidavit said.

Human remains believed to be woman buried under suspect's bedroom floor

Police arrested 67-year-old Terry Rose in connection to the death of Kimberly Langwell, who disappeared in 1999.

The founder of Texas EquuSearch, Tim Miller, told KFDM they brought in ground-penetrating radar. They then honed in on a 3 foot by 5 foot area with no steel rebar under a bedroom floor.

"We knew it had been cut out," Miller said. "I thought, 'My God, it's the perfect size for a person to bury someone.' There's no reason the wire mesh and rebar would be cut out. City crews used concrete saws to cut into the floor, then we all began digging by hand, using shovels and spades. It was delicate work to avoid disturbing anything. We kept digging on each side of the cavity, to get lower."

Miller said they found human remains wrapped in a blanket shortly after 3 a.m. Friday. The remains were sent off for testing, but investigators believe they're Langwell's.
