San Antonio police: Weekend's shootings were not random
Chief William McManus announced during a news conference on Monday that a series of weekend shootings all involved targeted victims and were not random, but only two of the incidents are believed to be related.

San Antonio police are responding to a shooting at North Star Mall on Sunday afternoon.
Information so far seems to point to a targeted 'hit' and a possible link to another shooting over the weekend.
As far as local news goes, this could not be any more local to me, as I live in the neighborhood adjacent. I shop and walk there regularly.
I have never felt any less safe at the mall than any other public place these days, and still won't. It's a nice enough mall, not super upscale, but very normal, in a nicely diverse part of town. It attracts everyone from seniors from the nearby retirement communities, to Mexican nationals in the US to shop for name brands, to folks just wanting to get their picture taken with the gigantic cowboy boots out front.
