Female Infant
Height: 1' 9" (21 inches)
Weight: 5lbs
Circumstances: The decedent is an unidentified infant with no last known responsive time. At approximately 0830hrs on 8/24/21, a community member was walking along a trail (rough 2-wheeled path) in Wunneburger Neighborhood Park (Austin, TX) reportedly looking for worms/fishing bait. At a location estimated to be about 70-80 yards along a woodland path that runs north from Old San Antonio Road bridge over Onion Creek, the community member smelled something decomposing along the side of the trail and went to investigate further as he thought it was maybe a large fish poached from the river. He reportedly discovered what appeared to be plastic garbage bag mostly buried near a large tree several yards from the west bank of Onion Creek. Suspecting a large fish, he utilized a shovel found nearby and unearthed a portion of the bag and discovered the decedent. The decedent was reportedly unclothed and appeared to still possibly have an umbilicus/placenta attached. 911 was contacted. Law enforcement and first responders arrived. The decedent was confirmed to be human and obviously deceased and was pronounced at 0851hrs on 8/24/21.
