Volunteers pulled this car out of a private lake at Texarkana, Texas, on Feb. 5, 2024. Turns out that was stolen in 1999. “They actually found the owner of this car,” said Adam Brown, of Rapid Compassion Collective. “It was stolen when she was 18. It has her schoolbooks in the back. It has her backpack in it.”

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) — Volunteers pulled a car out of a private lake in Texarkana on Monday. It was reported missing nearly 25 years ago.

But it wasn’t the vehicle that volunteers were hoping to find.

“We were in town searching for a lady who went missing in 1987 in a red Fiero; and her name was Margaret Chauncy,” Jeremy Sides said.

The group decided to come to the Texarkana area after Texarkana, Texas, police asked for help in a 35-year-old missing person case.

Margaret Jane Chauncy went missing in October 1987 when she got off work at the old St. Michael Hospital building in downtown Texarkana, police said. She last was seen driving a red 1984 Pontiac Fiero.

Police said they are trying to develop new leads in the case.

“So we started looking at any possible body of water a car could go in, like this road that goes by it; no guardrail,” Brown said.

I have the impression that it was revenge as the police say but... she tried to escape with this man... maybe she lent him money as a proof of her love but with his wife she had something planned to get her out of the equation... surely the guy continued with his normal life and so did his wife but in his mind they have Margaret... I think she was a good woman maybe with low self-esteem to go out with a married guy...
