I wonder what their relationship, if any, is? Is he a relative? Family friend? Someone she met online? I hope she's safe and located soon.

Why did it take so long to release an Amber alert? Was that the amount of time it took to get a description of the car? This is very worrying.

Came over to this case hoping there'd be a good update saying she was found safely. 😢
Is he any relation aka an uncle/cousin/relative who may have tried to get her out of a bad situation ?
Something other than nefarious outcome, hopefully.

Although taking such actions (absconding with a minor) even if trying to help her --is a bad decision and unlawful, so ....
Imo.

The link seems to be broken now sadly. Not sure if the post has been removed.
Is anyone able to give me the gist of it please?

Edit to the county sheriff’s FB post -

The Amber Alert for missing 15-year-old Maryui Yolani Gomez Marquez has been cancelled due to Texas rangers receiving credible information that she and Juan Orlando Garcia Sarmiento are no longer in the United States.

Forgive my lack of knowledge. Does anyone know if the search for this poor girl just stops?
I have granddaughters her age. I’d go to the ends of the earth…

I had no idea this would cause an AA to be cancelled. I thought it stayed active until there was a resolution.

Yeah that’s very disappointing

JMO, but I think her leaving the country negates the usefulness of the AA. The point of the program is to enable the public to help locate missing kids, but now that’s impossible. Hopefully Mexican law enforcement is on the case now.

I figured if they returned to the US that it might be useful. Unfortunately I've had two separate students who were taken into Mexico (kidnapped) and brought back-and-forth across the border until they were eventually located and rescued by family.

Well this is frustrating !!!!
Hoping the authorities in MX can locate them.
Darn it.
Omo.

I don't understand, what if they travel back into the US at some point?

Isn't the AmberAlert usually about being on the look-out for a specific car, with the missing person(s) in it? If these two are in Mexico now, and at some time travel back to the US in another car, an AmberAlert with old information wouldn't help, the same if a car in an AmberAlert had been found ditched, or torched.
