Michael Dewain Drake, 44, was last seen at his home off FM 439 west of Belton on Jan. 14, the department shared on Facebook.

Drake is described to be a white male who is about 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He also has short blonde hair and blue eyes.

Missing Bell County man found dead, investigators say

The Bell County Sheriff's Department shared that they were searching for 44-year-old Michael Dewain Drake on Jan. 15, 2024.

The department stated on Wednesday, Jan. 17 that Drake had been found dead after investigators searched an area near his home with the help of neighbors.

An autopsy has reportedly been ordered. The Bell County Sheriff's Office said it will continue to investigate the case.

UPDATE: Belton man reported missing amid freezing temperatures found dead

Authorities say Michael Dewain Drake, 44, was last seen on Jan. 14 at his home near FM 439 west of Belton.

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) - The Bell County Sheriff’s Department revealed Michael Dewain Drake, 44, who was last seen on Jan. 14 amid freezing temperatures, was found dead on Jan 17.

On January 19th, the Bell County Sheriff’s department reported the preliminary autopsy findings which found that an undiagnosed medical condition contributed to his death.

Bell county officials reported that the pathologist assigned to Drake found no signs of trauma.

The final autopsy of Drake still pending and will be complete after normal medical testing.
