Per his FB page, he was staying at the Bridge Homeless Recovery Center in Dallas as of 11/18 at 3:05 pm. and said he doesn't have to worry about food or shelter for at least another week ?? Post from 11/21 at 10:21 pm says I refuse to die before publishing my books.
So in Dallas for sure on 11/18, sounds like he's planning to stay the week. Then disappears near Hwy 11 - per family post on FB - on 11/22. Dallas to Hughes Springs is 2 hrs 30 minutes. What caused him to decide to leave Dallas earlier than originally planned per his FB post? Curious.

He has a post on Facebook on 11/17 saying ‘This is my last adventure’ with a photo of an Amtrak reservation and also a flight to Boston on Monday, the 25th. I hope someone is searching further afield beyond Dallas for him.

He likely hitched a ride with a trucker given the proximity to two highways:
Hughes Springs, Texas is located at the intersection of state highways 11 and 49, which run concurrently through the city:
  • TX 11: Runs east from Hughes Springs to Linden, which is about 15 miles away
  • TX 49: Runs southeast from Hughes Springs to Avinger, which is about 9 miles away
  • Together: TX 11 and TX 49 run west from Hughes Springs to Daingerfield, which is about 6 miles away
I'd put his poster up at the truck stops within 20 miles each way. All the truckers know when one of them has a hitchhiker.

Amateur opinion and speculation
