On May 12, 2001, family members discovered the bodies of Ruby and Orville Loving inside the couple's Waco home. The night before, the Lovings called 911 twice after strangers knocked on their door claiming to have been in a car wreck nearby and asking to use the phone. In both instances, Waco Police responded and searched the area but found no evidence of a car crash. The Lovings were killed hours later and the home was ransacked. The only thing missing besides the telephones was a small box of coins.

Man shot by Waco police after 'threatening' confrontation 2013

A man remained hospitalized and an investigation was under way Friday into an incident that led a Waco police officer to shoot a man whom the officer believed was armed with a gun, authorities said.

Limited details were available in the aftermath of the shooting Friday morning at 3424 Forrester Lane, a one-story home in a North Waco neighborhood that was the site of an unrelated slaying of an elderly couple more than a decade ago.

Lana Dunham, who lives near the home where the shooting occurred, noted Friday morning that it was the second violent incident at the house, where her friends, Orville and Ruby Loving, were killed in May 2001. The case has never been solved.

This situation would have been terrifying for anyone but especially for an elderly couple. These "strangers" hid and watched Waco PD search not once but twice before making their move. Which begs the question: Where were they hiding? Was there a vacant home in this neighborhood? Or, did one of the neighbors happen to have some shady family members or friends staying with them?
