Silver Alert issued for 85-year-old missing San Antonio man

The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Silver Alert for a missing San Antonio man.

Along with TxDPS, the San Antonio Police Department was searching for 85-year-old Raimundo Gonzalez after he was last seen in driving a beige 2001 Jeep Cherokee with license plate number FHB8223.

Gonzalez was described as a white male, who weighs about 145 lbs. standing 5'6" tall. He has grey hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a beige hat.

Gonzalez has been diagnosed with cognitive impairment, and police believe his disappearance poses a credible threat to his safety.

I see these Silver Alerts often involve seniors of great age with cognitive impairments getting into vehicles and driving off. It is very difficult to get them to understand they should stop driving. I'm facing this in my own family. I hope Mr. Gonzalez is found safe. San Antonio is huge.
