TX TX - Regina Hertz, 73, San Antonio, 27 February 1974

I wonder why there is so few information on this case. On February 27, 1974, a passerby found 73-year-old Regina Hertz, badly beaten and barely alive on the side porch of an abandoned church at S. San Jacinto and Buena Vista. Regina had been the victim of a brutal sexual assault. She was transported to Robert B Green hospital, where she died the following morning from her injuries.

Sometimes it amazes me that some murder cases have been almost completely forgotten.

It's been 50 yrs to the day my Grandmother was brutally murdered on her way to work and to this day no one has ever been charged. I have spoke with SAPD detectives and evidently what evidence they did have has been destroyed. I always felt the SAPD botched the whole thing and never did their job of correctly obtaining evidence,especially DNA evidence,and preserving it. Always felt they never cared because it was an elderly person. 50 years is to long of a time for no answers and answers I will never get.
