This young man was found dead from “toxic effects” of a synthetic drug in March of this year. Today it was announced LE is investigating it as a homicide. Rice is near and dear to my heart, and I am saddened to hear about this. Hope they are able to get to the bottom of it soon. Rice does not have any fraternities so it is unlikely to be a result of a hazing incident. The young man was a junior, which is also a bit older than hazing victims I believe. Tragic story at any rate.

So do people really recreationally use this drug? It’s 100k times stonger that fentanyl? Wow. Drugs have changed since I was young and hip. How sad. I’m sure it being a blindside added insult to injury. RIP, sir.

Homicide implies another person is involved. Homicide includes murder and manslaughter, which can be in different forms as we know. I am glad the investigation into this tragedy is going deeper to give the young man’s family some answers about how this happened. Being that the drug is described in such unimaginable terms, it would be important to public health to determine where it came from.
