Cy-Fair ISD teacher arrested after being accused of keeping son in trunk at COVID test site

On Saturday, Beam was arrested, according to court records. Her bond was set at $1,500. Records show the teacher who has been an employee with Cy-Fair ISD since 2011 posted bond.

Though the district said the child was not harmed, Beam's court documents state her charge as felony endangering a child.

Beam is currently on administrative leave. No information on when Beam is due back in court has been released.”

Overboard Hysteria!
Geez Louise agreed!
Your Poor kid hasn't suffered enough the past two years...and ya gotta do this? Shove him in a trunk? WTH??!!

So afraid of getting "sick", she locked her own child in a trunk? There has to be more to the story, or she has lost her mind. Moo.

There is obviously some serious issue here with this woman. What I just realized was that she was Teaching!
What have any of her students had to put up with recently, if she was that out of control? Scary!

She's a teacher? If she treats her own child this way, how does she treat her students?

She actually sounds like a nutcase. She couldn't put him in the back seat with everyone masked and the windows open?

This is unbelievable. No one with a heart of gold locks a child in a car trunk. Now come on.

Agreed. I'm sure, however, she could give what she thinks is a very good reason for doing this. Grrrrr.
Didn't want to leave him home alone. The backseat wasn't far enuff away. There was no back seat. Couldn't send him to someone else's house because he has Covid. He understood and he was a good soldier -- he doesn't want me to get sick. I had no other choice.

Surely one of those excuses is good enuff, right?...
Damm. SMH.

When I did contact tracing, I would speak with parents who had children with a positive Covid test, and most of them seemed resigned that everyone in the family was going to get Covid.

You really can't "isolate" your kids in the house. Unless you are this "mother", she probably would have left her child in the garage for 2 weeks. o_O

Crazy enough, I bet she completely justifies this and more than likely gets off.

Even if she does get out of this...legally..She will have to live with the fact that she shoved her son in a trunk! Can you imagine what that poor boy thinks? He will never forget it, his classmates and friends won't let him forget it either. It's shameful. There really is no excuse for it.

There is no way I would allow a person like this to teach my child. She needs to lose her job.

RSBM

ITA and whatever excuse she might give. (beyond what she's already "reasoned")... I don't even want to hear it.

I can't imagine what her son may be going through at school. Possible name-calling, laffing, etc., all because his mom is a flake, IMHO.
