A 25-year-old mother has been sentenced to prison for 40 years after pleading guilty to trying to sell her toddler daughter for sex.

In February, the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office in Texas was conducting an investigation into child exploitation. Sarah Peters entered into an agreement with an undercover officer to sell her 2-year-old daughter for sex.

On Thursday (July 12), twenty-five-year-old Sarah Marie Peters was convicted after pleading guilty to charges which involve the promotion of prostitution.

Ugh this makes me sick! Sort of off topic but relevant, when I was a new social worker I was involved in the case of 2 adorable little girls who were living in a motel with their pregnant Mom, the Mom was selling both girls to men for sex. Girls were placed in foster care and adopted by a very nice couple who had been unable to have children of their own. Seemed like a great end to a horrible story. At first things went well but soon the girls were molesting each other, molested a family friends child, maturbated in public constantly and doing things like defecating in the floor vents. Parents had to install cameras in their home and lock the girls in separate rooms at night, they took the girls to every sort of therapist and specialist they could and did everything to help the girls heal. I eventually lost track of the family but just yesterday saw in the newspaper that the older girl had been arrested and is homeless. I'm crushed and heartbroken but pray this little girl can grow up happy and healthy and nothing bad had happened to her yet.
