MCTXSheriff Seeks Identity of Victim in Death Investigation

On December 8, 2019 at approximately 2:00 pm, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible deceased person behind an abandoned church located in the 600 block of Westridge in Spring, Montgomery County, TX. Deputies arrived and found a large plastic tote hidden behind a shed that contained what appeared to be the body of an unidentified female. Detectives with the Homicide-Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded, and are investigating.

Based on information obtained during autopsy, the victim in this case appears to be a Caucasian female with dark blond or light brown hair, 50-60 years of age, approximately 5’-02”, weighing approximately 120 lbs. The victim has dentures on her upper jaw, and was found wearing a blue Croft and Barrow shirt (size small), a white bathrobe, and blue and white pants with a Samoan design. The bottom of the pant legs bore the words “Alofa” (Samoan for “Love”), and “Samoa”.

Autopsy also revealed that the victim has undergone a hysterectomy, gall bladder removal surgery, gastric bypass surgery, and may have been a smoker. The images depicted below are articles of clothing worn by the deceased. Anyone with information on the possible identity of this person or information about this incident is strongly urged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867), and refer to case 19A393469. The victim’s cause of death has yet to be determined.” (BBM)

In the video at the link, the reporter states people nearby say the church has been abandoned for more than a year.

So she was someone with enough means or insurance to afford multiple surgeries and dental. No PMI but it must have been recent for them to know so much medical info. Hope someone recognises the description and gives a quick resolution.

The gastric bypass surgery and the gall bladder surgery likely mean this victim was once obese. She might also have suffered from an eating disorder like bulimia at some point, which often results in upper tooth loss (from stomach acid etching away the teeth).

I wonder (if it does turn out to be homicide, which seems very likely) if this is a case of a partner's jealousy over a spouse's weight loss and subsequent 'attractiveness' turning to homicide. If so, the partner might have isolated her for some time from family before they killed her - after all, that's what abusive partners do - which means that if she was reported missing by siblings or other family they might not be aware that she was thin, and the report might give an erroneous weight. If that makes any sense!

I wonder if LE sends out a flyer or something to local bariatric surgery practices? I know that there is some amount of counseling involved before surgery so chances of someone in the office recognizing her is a possibility. I'm sure there are tons of these practices in Houston and the surrounding areas, though. It would be hard to distribute the info but might be worthwhile if she isn't ID'd soon.

I had the same thought. Dr. Nowzaradan from the TV series, My 600 lb Life, is based in Houston.

22-year-old Jaryd Ramos has been charged with capital murder after the bodies of his grandmother and great grandmother were discovered.

Investigators were led to the 24400 block of King Briar Drive where they interviewed Ramos at the home he shares with relatives.

Authorities spoke with Ramos about missing person reports filed in November for his grandmother and great-grandmother, Barbara and Regina Gromley. After a search, the body of his 90-year-old great-grandmother, Regina, was found in a trash can in the backyard. Shortly after this discovery, Ramos confessed to strangling both Regina, and his 59-year-old grandmother Barbara, the woman found in the tote bag behind the church.
