Two investigators were sent to the woman’s home in the Metroplex to meet with her. Akin said evidence suggests she is the person they have been looking for.

The circumstances of exactly what led to the 36-year-old woman asking for help are still being investigated, Akin said.

“She is alleging she was the victim of a domestic dispute, and she wanted to get away,” the sheriff said. “She said she called a friend who came and picked her up.”

The sheriff’s office did not reveal her identity or the town where she lives, pending further investigation.

Not trying to make a case or promote a theory, just threw another possibility out there. I, as a homeowner, would have been leary about opening the door. If I was trying to promote a theory, I would answer your question by saying "to play the part" so someone would open the door. I for one, hope that she was not someone in deep trouble AND was not someone fronting a home invasion. I hope she was someone who temporarily was frightened by a perceived threat and that she is okay somewhere.
In Chicago, there have been a number of home invasions with people claiming they need "help" only to have an accomplice rush the door. If that occurred, I would tell the person to hide while I call 911. I do NOT open the door to strangers even if they have some ID around their neck and are carrying a clipboard (a common ruse in home invasions). If they say they are from the Cable company, CALL the cable company to see if someone has actually been sent.

I’m 47 but fit in the average 12 yr old category on the pediatric growth chart. If I was seen on a video like that I would definitely be mistaken for a child ( I am a lot anyway).

Welp there goes any age frame estimate believability.

Glad she is safe

Glad she is safe! Logical explanation. I'm impressed she called in to report that it was her. Only an older person would do that. IMO! I guess we all learned a lesson about age range!
