Twenty-three years later, her father, Tom Chivers, is still on a consuming journey to find out what happened after that party and why his daughter was clubbed at the base of her neck and then stabbed 10 times in the neck. No one ever faced prosecution for the murder of the 22-year-old woman, known as Jade to her family...

Tom Chivers estimates he knocked on nearly every door in the sprawling apartment complex near Webb Chapel Road where his daughter’s body was found in the unit she shared with her sister, Paula. He’s interviewed everyone who attended her party that night — save for two men.

While many kits sat untested over the years, some family members have hounded detectives, even paying for forensic testing themselves. Tom Chivers spent thousands on private investigators and DNA testing to try to figure out who killed his daughter, 22-year-old Terrina Jade Chivers.

Jade Chivers was found stabbed to death in August 1989 in her northwest Dallas apartment. Her death is still unsolved and remains on the list.

I knew Jade for a short time. I met her during the summer of 1983 while I was staying with my cousin for the summer. We hung out a few times. Funny because I was 15 and didn’t have my license yet so she had to always come pick me up and she had to drive us everywhere.
I knew she had been murdered but I was told they had caught the guy. While talking to my cousin today, I found out it was unsolved and now a cold case.
I wish I had info to give to the police so they can get the guy that did this to her. She is missed and it saddens me more no thatI know there is no suspect that they are investigating.
I found out today that her father had died. Does anyone have contact info for a relative of Jade’s? I don’t know if her mom is still alive but I believe Jade has a sister and maybe she is continuing the drive to find Jade’s killer.
Does anyone have an email for the person that is continuing the fight to find the murderer?
