SAN ANTONIO -- A 2-year-old girl in desperate need of a liver transplant received it Sunday from a matching donor.

KSAT-12 first reported on Zaria Johnson's medical condition Friday. In June, doctors found multiple tumors on her liver.

"The tumor got so big it was actually crushing her intestines," her father, Laron Johnson, said.

After the story aired, the hospital and KSAT-12 received dozens of calls from viewers who were willing to donate the part of the liver Zaria needed to live.

According to hospital officials, they received 50 volunteers and chose one, then immediately performed the transplant Sunday.

People, total strangers, showed up to donate part of their liver to this little girl!
