On March 19, 1992, officers were dispatched to 6001 E. Berry Street. The body of Trina Lane had been found floating in a creek at 3700 Cravens. Trina Lane had been reported missing by her mother on March 11. Her 1989 Ford Tempo was found behind a butcher shop at 4016 Mansfield Highway. It appeared that there had been a struggle inside the vehicle. It was later determined that she had been strangled.

Fort Worth Star - Telegram article from March 14 1992 (link) says she disappeared on March 11th after taking her children to school. She had six children. She lived with her mother, four of her nieces, and three of her children.

Three of her children lived with her ex-boyfriend. Every morning, she would go pick up the three from her ex-boyfriend's and take all 6 to school/daycare. The day she went missing, her ex-boyfriend went with her to drop the kids off and then she dropped him back off and said that she needed to run an errand and would be back in 30 minutes. She never came back.

She worked as a waitress at a Braums restaurant and it sounds like she had been good about calling in the few times she missed work over the 6 months she'd been there.

As of this 1996 article, Lane's mother shared there's been no progress in her daugher's case and that the children had gone to live with their father.
