Details of Disappearance​

Eastep was last seen at approximately 1:30 p.m. on February 15, 2003, at a convenience store in the vicinity of 802 and Loop 197 north in Texas City, Texas.

He said he was going to Port Lavaca, Texas but it is unknown if he ever arrived. His pickup truck, a white 1996 Ford F-150 with the Texas license plate number 6SVM06, is also missing. Few details are available in Eastep's case.

Mr. Eastep’s 1996 white Ford F-150 pickup is reported to also be missing. In looking at waterways between Texas City and Port Lavaca, there are many areas where it seems possible he could have had an accident in or near the water. Just a google search listed the following.

When driving from Texas City to Port Lavaca (roughly via I-45 S, Hwy 6, and Hwy 35), you cross several major coastal rivers and bays of the Texas Gulf Coast. Primary waterways include the Brazos River, Colorado River, Lavaca Bay/Causeway, and various smaller tidal creeks, bayous, and the intracoastal.

Key Waterways Crossed:

• Brazos River: Crossed near Freeport/Sweeny on SH 35.
• Colorado River: Crossed at Bay City on SH 35.
• Tres Palacios River/Creek: Crossed near Midfield on SH 35.
• Lavaca Bay: Crossed via the Lavaca Bay Causeway (SH 35) entering Port Lavaca.

The route largely parallels the coastline, moving between the inland prairie and the tidal bays.
