Family Finds Body of Missing Texas Woman After Searching Area Where Her Car Crashed 2 Days Earlier

Family members found Dallas woman Yesica Martínez dead near her wrecked car more than 48 hours after she was reported missing

The body of Yesica Martínez, 25, was discovered by family members Sunday behind a fence along the North Stemmons Freeway southbound service road, according to FOX affiliate KDFW and NBC affiliate KXAS.

Her SUV crashed on an overpass about 48 hours earlier, per the reports.

Mario Morales, Martinez's husband, said her body was found "pretty beat up and half clothed" about a half mile away from her car, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Morales last heard from his wife early Friday morning as she was heading home from her new serving job at a Dallas bar, according to the newspaper.

Her SUV was found crashed out. Her family says her eyeglasses and her phone were in there, but her body wasn't. And it wasn't where the family thinks she could have been thrown by the accident's impact either. They have a lot of questions, and so do investigators.

Martínez’ family spoke with FOX 4 Sunday morning hours after they found her body inside the fence surrounding a vacant property that was once the Landmark Cabana Motor Hotel.

Martinez crashed her SUV along the freeway. Somehow, her body ended up across these three lanes of the service road and in a ditch behind this fence.

Her family right now is wondering how did she end up behind this fence after crashing her SUV.

Just popping in because Yesica has been on my mind. I pass by the cross where the fence was cut to access her body daily. I tried emailing some of the local news stations that originally reported on her case to see if there were any updates and no one has responded.

I think she was ejected from her SUV, thrown across the frontage road, and ended up in that ditch, just like Casey Johnston in Philadelphia did in the middle of an interchange back in 2021.

This NBC news article has a video and at the 1:00 minute mark it shows her vehicle. While the front of the car is pretty damaged the windshield is intact. It also appears most of the damage is more on the passenger side.
