I couldn’t find her cases on here . Two men appear in court charged with drive-by murder of law student | ITV News

Eight people have so far been jailed for a total of more than 200 years for their involvement in her murder, and the attempted murder of Pacha Khan, the intended target of the shooting.

Now, following a review of the evidence, two more men, who were interviewed in the early stages of the investigation, have been arrested and charged.

Suhayl Suleman, 37, of Shear Brow, Blackburn and Lewis Otway, 41, of Clitheroe Road, Manchester are charged with the murder of Aya, and the attempted murder of Pacha Khan.

Both men appeared before Preston Crown Court on Friday, 28 January, where neither defendant entered a plea to either of the charges.

They will return to court on 9 May 2022 for a plea and trial preparation hearing, when it is anticipated they will enter their pleas.

The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham, set a date for the pair to stand trial.

The case will take place at Preston Crown Court on 28 July 2022 and is expected to last up to five weeks.

Neither defendant made an application for bail and the pair were remanded in custody until they return to court in May.

The backstory

Tyre firm boss Feroz Suleman, 40, had arranged the execution of a rival businessman but the gunman he hired shot dead Ms Hachem instead.

He was jailed at Preston Crown Court for life with a minimum of 34 years.

Gunman Zamir Raja, 33, who agreed to carrying out the shooting for £1,500, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 34 years.

Accomplices Kashif Manzoor, 26, Ayaz Hussain, 36, Abubakr Satia, 32, Anthony Ennis, 31, and Uthman Satia, 29, were also jailed for life.

CCTV footage from the time of the shooting shows the killers plotting their route ahead of the fatal shooting of law student Aya Hachem as she walked past a car wash in Lancashire.

Eight people were sentenced in August 2021 (details below) after they were convicted of roles in the shooting.

And today (Wednesday, March 29) after a trial another man was found guilty of both the murder of Aya Hachem and the attempted murder of Pachah Khan.

Louis Otway was involved in organising and arranging the shooting on 17th May 2020. He was the link between Ayaz Hussain in Blackburn on one hand, and “his boys” the gunman (Zamir Raja) and driver (Anthony Ennis) on the other

Otway, 42, of Clitheroe Road, Manchester, will be sentenced on May 5.
