Horror as maggots dropping from ceiling are result of a body decomposing upstairs (Daily Mail, of course)

A family plagued by thousands of maggots falling into their kitchen were horrified to discover that the source was a body which had been decomposing in the flat upstairs for a month.

Karen Davy was baffled when the bugs began dropping from the ceiling of her home in East Dulwich, south London - and called in police who broke into the flat upstairs and found a decaying body.

It's so sad when people die and no one even notices for ages. How lonely must their life have been to have no one visit or call for so long. It must be horrible for the family of the deceased to read about it though, if they were close but lived far away or something.

A friend of mine had a horrible experience at her flat a few years ago. Fortunately there were no maggots, but there was an increasingly pungent smell and growing stain on the ceiling. Turns out her upstairs neighbour died over Christmas and as the body tissue liquified it seeped through the ceiling. It was so upsetting for her to know someone had died above her and the body was just left there, fire and TV on while she celebrated Christmas without checking on them.

I'm not sure what would be worse, the maggots or the 'smell' ?? :thinking:
