Found Safe UK - Anthony Jupp, 32, walking from Stockport to Ashover (Derbyshire), 10 Aug 2022

Derbyshire Constabulary are issuing an urgent appeal for information on the whereabouts of Anthony Jupp, who went missing after walking from Stockport towards Ashover on Tuesday night [10 Aug 2022].

The 32-year-old was heading home on foot to Kelstedge [near Ashover] and is thought to have been walking along an A road, possibly the A6, in the early hours of yesterday.

He last made contact with family just before midnight but not return home and has not been in touch with anyone since.

Officers have started searching but are now asking for the public’s help in locating Anthony.

He is white, about 6ft 1ins, with blonde hair and with a large rose tattoo on his neck. He was last seen wearing dark shorts, a blue t-shirt with paint on it, and either work boots or grey Nike Air Max trainers. Anthony speaks with a strong Cockney accent.

That's a distance of 32 miles as the crow flies! Perhaps he was hoping to hitch a lift for the majority of the journey. I'm glad the police appeal has mentioned his accent - it's all so frequently omitted (political correctness?) from appeals, despite it being an obvious point of recognition.

Anthony has responded to the police appeal with the following post: "Hi everyone I have been found and police have spoke. With me . I'm sorry I tried to kill myself because of my life and the situation in currently in. I'm sorry to worry everyone I really am but with what's gone on I dint want to be here and the police have been helpful".

There has been no official update yet. Hopefully Anthony will receive any support he needs.

It's been a little while, but finally it is official ... Derby Constabulary have reported that "Anthony Jupp, who was reported missing from Kelstedge, has been found and is safe".
