Search team's advice in hunt for missing Ben Veitch

Hundreds of people offer to help desperate dad search for missing son Ben Veitch

Ben disappeared from the next village to us, and his car was found opposite my house.

Police have been round to check my CCTV, but it is not working (it is wired into the hard drive of the office of a CCTV company next door and their hard drive is down)

Kent Search and Rescue have now arrived and shown me their map of the areas they will be covering, and I have passed on some more info (which I had previously given to the police, but was ignored). There is waste land nearby which is frequently used for illegal raves, only accessible on foot. I could hear music coming from there on Friday night and Ben was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning. The footpath to the rave site runs down the side of my house. I am hoping they will take on this additional information. Someone went missing after a rave down there not so long ago, but was thankfully found safe and well.

I'm delighted to say, Ben has been found safe and is back with his family.

They had a reported sighting in a specific area (woodland at the far edges of the village). Going against police advice, just before dusk last night, his dad posted a call for help searching on social media.

People arrived in their hundreds and went out in a totally uncoordinated search. By 21:00, the search was called off due to it being so dark, but some just didn't give up. They continued scouring the woodland until he was found.

Just 20 minutes later, his dad reported he had been found, safe and alive.

There is no report in the local press as yet, but a very heartfelt message of thanks was posted by his dad at 00:30, thanking everyone and reporting that after medical attention, a bath and some food, Ben is now returned to his family.
