I also just emailed BBC and ITV (who previously reported on the case). Do you think it is worth a few of us e-mailing PT to put pressure on them- this is a really crucial part in the trial, as the verdict will undoubtedly hang on their defence ... what awful timing to blackout. I feel like this is the part the public also deserve to hear, and will reveal a lot about the characters of SaW and ScW. Apart from anything it is such complacency on the part of the media, and such an injustice to poor BW not to have her story told.

I'm a member of the FPA - I'd happily attend pro-bono, if only I was close enough! Frustrating.

I was there at court this afternoon. It was ScW being questioned by his defence and it took all day to go through all of his phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages and Fb posts/ messages even to the point of identifying each person in every photo posted! They read out all the phone numbers and a reference code for each - honestly it took forever. ScW was very humble, very polite, very co-operative. He smiled when he mentioned any of the children and only got stressy once when he was asked if he had sexually abused Bernadette. The jury and barristers all have files full of maps, photos and transcripts of texts / messages. Didn’t see SaW as she wasn’t giving evidence and was screened off from the public gallery.

I thought the questions sounded rather tame for a prosecutor. :D

He told the court: “I didn’t know whether there was a plan behind all of this and why Bea would be missing and why these allegations were made.

“Was this all to get me out of the house?”

----

I've always thought this sounds contrived from the first time it was reported - it would be Sarah trying to get him out of the house, being in a new relationship, not Bee. But Sarah didn't take the opportunity, as we know. It doesn't stack up that his teenage daughter would have that motive, unless it was planned by the mother (it wasn't), or the allegations were true!

Of all the plans to come up with to get ScW out of the house, ScW suggests the socially introverted BW came up with accusing him of being a paedophile rapist voyeur who had sexually abused her for 7 years before then vanishing into thin air so that he could also be charged with her murder. There's far fetched and then there's that.

i think he knew that it would, for sure, get him out the house

(….and into the ‘big house’ )

he may have felt that he didn’t have much more to lose

And why would SaW fear social services involvement enough to voice those fears to him? There must have been a reason.

I did wonder in the beginning if BW had made these allegations to get him out of the house. Older brother had said they wanted him out. If so she would have expected her Mother to believe her and back her up by asking ScW to leave.

Yes I don't understand the great fear of social services being involved. Seems a very extreme reason to murder someone! I hope this question is asked of them both. Also why would the kids get taken away if SaW had done nothing wrong?
