He really didn’t like the female prosecutor outwitting him
rsbm

I have a hunch that this was used to great advantage. I sense she got right under his skin, not just today but in helenvic's recounting of his responses last week too.

I'm very glad that she's been on remand since Tiktok decided to allow 3 minute long videos! ;)
Also had to stop myself snorting when they read out his claim that he lit a cigarette and so he couldn’t see where she’d gone. Funny if it wasn’t so very tragic for poor Bernadette.

The horses thing is probably pretty true (more leakage), may not be stables could just be a field with a couple of horses. They also mentioned McDonalds, I still think that was the excuse he used to perhaps take BW in that direction in the first place. Out of interest can anyone tell me whats behind these gates?

Google Maps

we don’t really have many horses this way but can’t say I pay attention to be honest! Would be worth checking as odd detail to mention at this stage out of the blue.

the McDonald’s makes no sense as he went the wrong way! Glinton McDonald’s is the other way.

As for that gate, I don’t know to be honest. I must pass that daily but I have never thought about it

Absolutely @Tortoise - I felt that too!

Also the amount of time they are on remand is then doubled and taken off their sentance. So if for example saw gets 3 years , she has spent so far 10 months on remand. So 20 months will be taken from her sentance. Also if sentanced to 3 years they only do half the sentance which would be 1.5 years. Therefore she could actually walk out of court for time spent.
Please forgive me if what I'm quoting is wrong.
That is true in most cases but the judge doesn’t have to give this, the law changed a few years ago whereby they had to give time served off but they don’t have do nowadays, o can’t remember the circumstances this would happen in now tho

He just mentions McDonalds too much IMO and the prosecution said this today

She suggested that after picking Bea up from her grandparents he drove to McDonalds up the A15. He then drove down the A15 and into the countryside where he killed her. He said that they were looking at horses then he decided to take her back to the grandparents which is why he ended up in Skaters Way

I just feel there is some truth in what is saying, which led me up to that gate I posted on the A15 on the way to McDonalds Glinton ? Could be totally wrong of course :-)

Hi, I live extremely close to a lot of the key areas in this tragic case and not a day goes by when I don’t think of Bernadette when I pass them. I remember a friend posting about Bernadette being missing at the start and clicking on her mother’s profile through a comment to see if I recognised her. Alarm bells rang immediately so I have no doubt they did for the police as well. Something that has always bothered me is the grandparents allowing her to be picked up by someone she had alleged had abused her (I’m guessing as they reported she repeated to them she wasn’t lying they were aware of the allegations). To me you either believe them and wouldn’t allow that or don’t believe them and then wouldn’t allow them to be alone together in case more allegations are made. I also would be very interested to hear both of the accused explanations for Bernadette not taking her phone with her which is very unusual for someone of her age. In relation to today’s talk of horses. There is a travellers site to the right of the barn garden centre, after Roman fields and there are often horses left in the fields and next to the turning to the barn garden centre and also further along near the werrington roundabout which is where you would turn down to skaters way. There are often cars where the horses are from dog walkers and I wouldn’t bat an eye at one being left there. To me the mention of skaters way is more than problematic. As far as I’m aware it’s pretty much a dead end unless you are a bus so is not somewhere you would use as a through route. I fear Bernadette was gone before anyone knew she was missing and is still very local. I pray she is found and given the respect she deserves.

It's just lie after lie after lie.

If that was the case there would have been no reason for the lie about driving home and Bee saying she wasn't going home and jumping out!

I would have thought the prosecution would have asked ScW where he stopped with BW to look at horses.
wow! This guy is either the worse liar or the most unlucky person ever. The horses is a weird touch. It is a detail that has been added needlessly and may be quite telling. Off the top of my head I can only think of the stables at peakirk. It stood out as something he’s clinging to
ScW switched his phone off and on again within range of the Gunthorpe telecomms mast (situated behind the Barn Garden Centre). I'm wondering if the references to showing BW horses is truth leakage. Is there anywhere around there with horses in fields next to a road? Are there horses in the mast field, for instance, as it looks like pasture?

Yes there is and the more I think of it, it fits that maybe an element of truth has slipped out. As I said in my previous post the horses are often left in the field opposite the barn garden centre and you see dog walkers looking at them. They park at I think a gate way? I’ve never had reason to take much notice but there is only room for one or two cars so one that space is gone you would be pretty undisturbed.

Although you can’t discount that this is a case of someone clutching at straws and trying to make their story more believable by adding in details (ie there are horses there).

From what he has said so far (not much) he had absolutely no need to mention anything about horses IMO

I'm intrigued to know what makes anyone think he's not lying about driving to see horses.

This is a man who said he was reading the racing news to explain why he was out all night, and said he set up covert cameras in the bathroom because of hidden sweet wrappers. He needed to give an excuse and he's a liar (imo).

What would motivate him to 'leak truth' about the place he is alleged to have committed a murder? It doesn't make the story any more believable, taking Bee to see lovely horses in the Fens when she has just disclosed to people for the first time that he raped her.

I’m extremely dismayed that he may be found not guilty.

Just looking on Google streetview and aerial view, there are a number of locations with horse paddocks on Bridge Hill Road, which Gunthorpe Road leads to. Some of the fencing is not dissimilar to the fencing ScW made for Hill House Farm as shown on his HiH Maintenance facebook page.

The yellow circles are the horses I could take you to and guarantee they would be there everyday. The left circle there was a baby horse that has since been moved, but last year it would have been there 100%.

My second image shows the track where I mentioned yesterday.

Great report, MIdge28, thank you. Such a shame we won't be able to see SaW accounting for her actions!

I just think he slipped up, he didn't need to mention visiting horses at all. We are all entitled to have opinions and ideas especially as B still hasn't been found so to me any idea (especially with local input) could still help locate her body.

Can I ask why you have dismissed the idea completely?
