Oooft my heart was in my mouth then thinking the verdict was imminent!!

I'd be surprised if there is a verdict today bearing in mind the amount of charges and two defendants.

I'd have thought tomorrow at the earliest but we live in hope...

I have been reading *ALL* the Libby Squire threads, from the day she first went missing, to trial. I am currently on Day Three. (LS was before I had discovered WS). There is a *GLARING* difference between the local reporting by the Hull newspaper, and this apology for 'journalism' from the PT.
This case is as big as the Rikki Neave murder and also the public interest of the Fiona Onasanya case the PT reporting has been the worst I Have ever seen for a case of murder. There is no reason for this because their output of other articles have been things like national ice cream day.
I can’t also believe they missed a week, with the important revelation ScW hid cameras in the bathroom and he also broke down on the stand.

An absolute disgrace

Is it actually true that ScW worked for the PT as the 'telegraph tipster'. I couldn't verify that online as I couldn't see reference to the PT .

If it is true, do you think this has any bearing in their very lax reporting?

yes he did. I reported it. I hope it isn’t why the local rag have turned up less than members on this board and did less searching too. I will never buy that paper again. It’s a disgrace and nothing more than a magazine. It doesn’t even count as journalism as most of their articles are “remember when” and then a re hashed story from when they did do journalism or diatribes by the local Tory mp passing off slogan laden nonsense as news.

Just another example of this girl being let down

What's going on now then? Why adjourn for only 5 mins? Or does it mean tomorrow? Getting tense waiting!!

they missed a week due to their only reporter being on holiday. Then he forgot to turn up for the whole defence as he thought it was cancelled! Can you imagine that happening elsewhere? He even blocked several people who called him out on it.

the paper is a joke. The worse bit is when they don’t even read what they send out. There’s a street in Glasgow called peterborough street, and the amount of times they just copy and paste “x is opening new store” and then it turns out to be in Glasgow. I mean, come on!

Or maybe they are adjourning before giving verdicts??? :D

yep Stephen b deleted all his tweets because of me and protected them as I called him out on his shoddy work the last few months and it was me who tweeted and called him a liar when he lied to people that it hadn’t . been sitting.

the worst thing though is they do have other reporters and he wasn’t attending in person and hasn’t gone to court not one day, he has CVP access so there is no reason the paper should have missed a day of the trial and another reporter could have logged into the CVP

I know who you are now on Twitter

I questioned PT about their reporting, or lack of. Got told that they can't report every witness, I asked why not? Got blanked. Considering it's a serious and local news story, they don't seem interested.

That does almost feel like intentional ill-reporting...

To busy asking people for the umpteenth time which was their favourite pub or bar in the 90s

I also think they aren’t interested because they have had to limit the responses on their Facebook page to prevent a mis trial so they aren’t getting their likes and comments which are used to generate advertising

Because they don’t have enough pop ups on their site ;)

small world and glad we all feel the same. Really sad excuse for a paper and plenty of elderly rely on this for their news.
