It’s all very odd.....I have no idea of why, it sounds like the pills were easily seen by the women before they ate the takeaway, couple of possibilities are a) that someone working at the takeaway trying to sabotage the owner or b) they would know the women’s addresses from the takeaway delivery details, and were planning to go round there again, once the women were possibilities unconscious or asleep, JMO

It's also possible that the pills were placed in the food afterwards to frame the kebab shop. The kebab was purchased, girls go home, they allegedly find pills wrapped in clingfilm and sealed in a capsule, they then eat the kabab and then phone the kebab shop before phoning police.

That makes sense, I saw it earlier and couldn't understand why the pills were in blue capsules as they'd be easier to see.

Agree with all the scenarios in this thread so far, I am no closer to trying to discover why the tablets were there, who put them there or why they were there....it’s a mystery! I

I wonder if the women concerned were all known to each other and placed the order together at the same time, or whether this was three separate occurrences, completely unrelated to each other? Also, it might be more telling when the pills found are identified.

This article makes it sound like the three women were together as the time is given as 2 am for the incident.

All of the above are, IMO, plausible scenarios.

I'm also reading the situation as, three flatmates/college housemates, etc. went out to the pub for a few drinks, and then out for takeaway to mop up the alcohol in the wee hours.

From the council meeting agenda (BBM):

On 13 January 2020 Sussex Police made an application under S51 Licensing Act 2003 for the review of the premises licence(6968) for Istanbul Grill(appendix 1)citing several incidents that have occurred at the premises raising serious cause for concern. Incidents relate to alleged conduct of the licence holder and include an allegation of him chasing a member of staff wielding a knife and women reporting that they had discovered pills in a kebab supplied to them at the shop.
