UK UK - Bristol & Surrounding Areas, multiple missing people reported after a night out, worrying trend.

Something has GOT to be going on. I get it, drunk young men, blah blah, but I live very near to a college campus and if it was JUST drunk young men falling into the river we'd be fishing dozens out every Sunday morning. There are too many here to be sheer misfortune. MOO

Reminds me of Manchester a decade ago.

There was a string of people going missing and found drown in canals which prompted press speculation there was a killer on the loose, also remember watching a TV documentary on it and the feeling there might be someone lurking out there pushing drunk people into canals.

However I presume the police never linked anyone and the victims were just deemed to have slipped in and drowned?

I live near Manchester so followed these cases closely and also watched the documentary.
It always made me wonder if there was no 'pusher' then surely the waterways need to be made safer to stop these accidents happening. Canals aren't horse drawn these days so don't need to be open to the footpath all the way along imo.

My thoughts exactly. The story is similar every single time. Young male in his 20's (usually), out with friends, gets strangely separated from these friends, no witnesses, then ends up being found in water.

I looked at the manchester events from years ago and the similarities make for an eerie read.
