A Coastguard helicopter was also scrambled, while the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston lifeboat searched the coastline.

Norfolk Police said the search was being “focused on the seafront area of Gorleston" and have urged pals not to launch mass searches due to coronavirus lockdown.

Detectives are also trawling CCTV footage at shops, businesses and homes for any sign of the estate agent.

"I’ve got no idea at all why she might have gone missing. We were texting last night and she seemed absolutely fine."said her mum.

I feel extra sorry for the families of people who are going missing people during this lockdown, it would add an agonising dimension to it.

I wonder if police are being way more blunt to families in this situation during the lockdown. There was a man who went missing recently in Glasgow and his car was found right beside the river. Within a few days the police made it clear that they believed he entered the river. This would mean there is no point in arranging search parties etc. and it’s just all left to divers.

Could just be a coincidence if both these people were seen on cctv entering water but I think police really don’t want to encourage any searches by the public at this moment in time for obvious reasons.

How incredibly sad. The situation worldwide has not helped those dealing with depression, in my opinion.

Leaving at 3am does not sound great.

How sad. This reminds me of the Sophie Smith case from 2017 which I think was in the same part of the country. I don’t think she was ever found either. There seems to have been an increase in suicides with the current Covid 19 situation and even less mental health support and it was pretty patchy before.

Yes you are right, Sophie went missing from Gorleston at 3am and was seen on CCTV the same as Chelsei.
Sophie has a thread here, I'm on my phone and can't seem to link it

Same here Sally, exact same thoughts about Sophie. She was never found, last cctv was her running towards the water. I hope Chelsie's family have closure.

It’s likely to be her, the police would be able to tell from the condition of the body. If it is her at least she has been found and her family have a sort of closure now.

Absolutely heartbreaking.
