Circumstances of Disappearance:
Higgins was last seen by his mother at their home in Denton, Manchester, around 11am on 31 July 2016. Later that day around 9pm, Higgins' mother received a text from his phone that said: ‘I’m not coming home, x’.” He has never been in contact since.

Higgins was captured on CCTV footage at 10 pm that same day, boarding the Stena Mersey ferry in Birkenhead, sailing to Belfast in Northern Ireland. He has family connections in both Longford and Mayo, Ireland. Officials believe Higgins may have spoken to two men on the ferry who may have information about his whereabouts. Higgins' behaviour has been described as out of character and his whereabouts remain unknown.
