Circumstances of Disappearance
Saville was last seen on December 7, 1954, around 11:30 pm leaving his girlfriend’s home in Canon Pyon, Herefordshire. He was reported missing the next day when he failed to turn up for work. A laundry bag that he had been carrying at the time was also never found.
Investigators believe Saville was ambushed and killed- intentionally or otherwise - on his way home by his girlfriend's jealous ex-boyfriend. Prior to his disappearance, Saville was being intimidated and receiving threats by the same man, who denied all involvement in Saville's disappearance. It was speculated that Saville's body was hidden, then later buried when several more men were involved.
Despite extensive searches and media coverage, Saville has never been located and his whereabouts remain unknown.
