The mysterious texts that make me hopeful my husband is still alive

Dr Shona Lidgey received texts supposedly from her husband, including: 'I have just been away for a while, I am coming home on a plane, should be with you soon. Please have a newspaper for me.'

To this day, Dr David Lidgey's disappearance not only remains a perplexing mystery but an agonizing open wound for his wife and the three children he left behind.

Dr Shona Lidgey is still haunted by the day, 11 years ago, when she returned home from work to find a handwritten note from her husband on the kitchen table which read 'Gone for a walk'.

The Norfolk GP thought it a little odd, as David, also a doctor, usually sent her a text message when he went out, but those four words triggered no immediate alarm bells.

Thanks for posting this Tootsie! I was just reading about David’s disappearance in the DM. What strange circumstances….I hope this publicity will assist Shona in locating him, at least for the children’s sake & her own peace of mind.

Yes it's a strange story.
I feel for everyone involved.

I got so involved in reading it that I felt angry. I know it was judgemental of me.

Mystery of GP missing for 11 years as his kids say they want him to come home​

Dr David Lidgey left a handwritten note on the kitchen table saying 'gone for a walk' on June 29, 2011 and has not been seen by his wife or three children since.

The children of a GP who mysteriously went missing 11 years ago have spoken out for the first time to say they feel no anger or bitterness towards their dad, only sympathy for whatever mental turmoil drove him to leave them.

Dr David Lidgey left a handwritten note on the kitchen table saying 'gone for a walk' on June 29, 2011 and has not been seen since.

He left his phone, wallet, watch, car keys, credit cards, passport and even the the loose change from his pockets when he walked out of his home in Norfolk.

I am a little late to the game on Dr.Lidgey's vanishing, but I am very interested. His wife and son apparently received texts more recently from him. I dont know what to make of it. I feel terrible for the entire family though.
