It's because of stories like this that I don't wander as much into the Crimes in the News forum - sometimes it's just too much to handle reading about the horrible things people do to each other. These poor children - left in the hands of that monster and she was free to do whatever tortourous things she wanted to do to them - little children! I hope she gets many tastes of her own medicine in her new home. Sandpaper on childrens' skin and wooden sticks down their throats - it just makes me physically ill and shed tears for them at the same time. Giving her protection in prison - UGH. Hopefully the prison will protect her as well as she protected those children.

I think they need to start holding these child welfare workers responsible in some way for these kinds of cases.

I read about so many of these cases where child welfare had been contacted or was already working the cases where these children or tortued or killed.

The victims of 'Britain's most sadistic mother' have spoken of their anger after she was pictured enjoying a trip to the shops after being freed halfway through a 14-year prison sentence.

Eunice Spry, 71, was recognised by three of her foster children, Victoria, Alloma and Christopher, who all suffered years of torture and abuse after being taken in by her in 1991.

A woman who suffered years of physical and mental torture by her “sadistic” foster mother and went on to became a passionate advocate for abuse survivors has died aged 35.

Victoria Spry, who was abused by Eunice Spry for almost 20 years, wrote and spoke about her experiences to try to help others facing the same sort of torment. She also worked alongside social services in Gloucestershire to try to help them prevent such a tragic case happening again.

Details about the circumstances of Victoria’s death have not been released, but police are not treating it as suspicious. An inquest will take place.
