Extensive searches are continuing in the search for missing Chippenham woman Fiona Edson.

Fiona, who is aged in her 50s, has been missing since Sunday afternoon (25/6).

We believe Fiona left her home in the Monkton Park area on her mobility scooter – she has limited mobility but can walk short distances.

She is described as white, approximately 5 ft 5 inches tall, with dark brown hair in a ponytail. When she left her home address, she was wearing a khaki cotton shirt and blue denim shorts.

Officers are conducting extensive searches on foot, on bike, in vehicles and are being supported by volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) and colleagues at NPAS and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in their efforts to locate Fiona.

We believe Fiona may be in the Chippenham or Calne area – we are extremely concerned about her welfare and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.

If you have information in relation to Fiona’s whereabouts, please call 101 or 999 in an emergency.

What is that general area like? Flat? Hilly? Near water?
Does she normally drive her scooter on a sidewalk or the street?
I’m worried she wrecked her scooter somehow and is incapacitated.

We are releasing two new photographs of missing Chippenham woman Fiona Edson as searches continue.

Fiona, 51, is missing from her home address in Monkton Park. She was last seen leaving her home at approximately 1pm on Sunday June 25.

Fiona was on her grey mobility scooter and was wearing a khaki shirt and denim shorts. Her dark hair was being worn in a ponytail and she was wearing glasses.

Since she was reported missing, officers, specialist search officers, colleagues from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and volunteers from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (WiLSAR) have been conducting extensive searches between the Chippenham and Calne areas.

“We understand Fiona left her home on her mobility scooter, although she does have limited mobility and can walk short distances. Officers have been working round the clock alongside volunteers from WiLSAR to try and locate Fiona.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who have already contacted us with information following our public appeals and we would urge anyone who was in the Monkton Park area on Sunday afternoon to cast their mind back – did you see a woman matching Fiona’s description on a mobility scooter? What direction was she heading in? Did anything appear out of the ordinary? Any information you have, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could be vital."

COPS are desperately hunting a missing mum who vanished five days ago near a river.

Fiona Edson, 51, was last seen leaving her home in Monkton Park, Wiltshire, at 1pm on Sunday.

Since she was reported missing, officers, specialist search officers, colleagues from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and volunteers from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (WiLSAR) have been conducting extensive searches between the Chippenham and Calne areas.

Dozens of specially-trained volunteers have been involved in the hunt, as was the police helicopter - which circled the town twice on Monday - and drones.

Boats were deployed on the River Avon by WILSAR, but subsequent searches of the water couldn't go ahead due to the boat sustained damage.

The inflatable craft's propeller was taken out of action when it struck a large metal object beneath the surface - thought to be a dumped trolley.

Yesterday, a cadaver dog - also known as a human-remains detection dog - was also deployed alongside the fast-flowing stretch of the river.

They know a lot of details about her appearance the last time she was seen. Who was the last person to see her prior to 1:00 on SUN? How sad for Fiona if an accident happened that landed her, and her heavy scooter, in the swiftly moving water.

The 51-year-old was using her grey mobility scooter while wearing a khaki shirt and denim shorts.

She had her dark hair in a ponytail and was wearing glasses at the time of her disappearance.
