Its coming up to 3 weeks now Gary has been missing with very high level of concern. Gary is from the Staffordshire area but his car was found abandoned in Kimmel bay North Wales with phone inside the car. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any CCTV of Garys movement's captured that day.
Police search for missing North Staffordshire man after car found in Wales

Some of the most readily lines of inquiry to start:

1. Does Gary have any friends, family, or other ties to the area of Kinmel Bay, Towyn, or North Wales more generally?
2. Where was it reported that the phone was in the car? The Stoke Sentinel link doesn't state where his phone is.
3. What are the circumstances of the car's location. Was there an attempt to conceal it/hide it from the road/remove plates/other that would make it difficult to identify? Car keys missing? Car locked or unlocked?

Police launch urgent appeal to find missing man after 'car found in North Wales' - Daily Post article, unfortunately no real/not much new information than what was already reported in the Stoke Sentinel article.

Edit: missing as of 5 January 2022, not 2021.

RIP Gary, i didnt know he had been found about a month.

A man's body was discovered five miles off the North Wales coast by a catamaran crew, an inquest opening heard. The body of warehouse worker Garry Jones was discovered in the sea off Rhyl last month, a hearing at Ruthin County Hall today (April 4) heard.

Mr Jones, of Ian Road in New Chapel, Stoke-on-Trent, was discovered in the sea by the crew of a catamaran called Mareel Onyx on March 3, 2022. Kate Sutherland, assistant coroner for North Wales east and central, heard that the body of the 55-year-old was found by the boat's skipper.

Mr Jones had been missing since January this year. North Wales Police shared an appeal at the time stating that the Stoke-on-Trent man was believed to be in the Conwy area after his car had been found there.
The coroner said that Mr Jones had been formally identified following DNA analysis. A post mortem has been conducted though the provisional cause of death is currently withheld. The inquest was adjourned to a future date pending further investigation.
Body of missing man found five miles off North Wales coast, inquest hears

A man, whose body was discovered off the North Wales coast two months after he went missing, left a heartbreaking final text message for his wife. The message was read out at inquest in Ruthin into the death of warehouse worker Garry Jones.

Mr Jones left his family home in Stoke-on-Trent on January 5 to stay at a Travelodge in Cheshire. The following day, he sent a text to his wife of 19 years, Christine, which caused his family concern.

It read: "Please tell everyone that I love them and that I am so so sorry." The 55-year-old gave details of the location of his belongings, before signing off with a final message, "sorry for everything, love you".

He was reported missing shortly afterwards. His body was found the sea in March by a catamaran crew five miles from Rhyl.

Senior coroner for North Wales east and central, John Gittins, heard details of the police investigation that followed Mr Jones' disappearance. North Wales Police used number plate recognition software and traced his car travelling towards Towyn on January 6.

Later that day officers found Mr Jones' car parked on St Asaph Avenue in Colwyn Bay. Whilst Mr Jones was not present, officers discovered a note inside the vehicle, signed by Mr Jones, which contained the message: "I am so sorry for any heartbreak or upset that I have caused or will cause by my actions."
