Woman arrested after car driven into pedestrians in central London​

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car hit pedestrians in central London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A woman in her 30s is in hospital in a critical condition and a man in his 50s suffered life-changing injuries after they were hit by a car in Argyll Street, Westminster, at about 4.30am on Sunday, the Metropolitan police said.

A second woman in her 30s also suffered minor injuries, the force said.

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and drink driving and taken into custody.

Yes, this is what is being reported on social media. One influencer ran another over, hitting two other people in the process. There are reports that the influencer who was struck has since died but this is yet to be confirmed by MSM.

I hope so as well. I'm guessing that the guy who suffered "life-changing" injuries has probably lost a leg. This incident happened over 12 hours ago so I would have expected more details to have come out officially by now, especially as it's pretty clear that this is not a terrorist incident.

Meanwhile there are reports of a mass shooting in Louisiana which has left 8 children dead.

I hope so as well. I'm guessing that the guy who suffered "life-changing" injuries has probably lost a leg. This incident happened over 12 hours ago so I would have expected more details to have come out officially by now, especially as it's pretty clear that this is not a terrorist incident.

Meanwhile there are reports of a mass shooting in Louisiana which has left 8 children dead.

If reports are to be believed, the incident arose from two women arguing over a man.

The judge ordered that Carrington is held in prison until the next court hearing at the Old Bailey on May 19.

Carrington was seen making a heart sign to her friends and family in the packed public gallery as she was led out of the dock.

Family and friends for Ms Zakrzewska also attended the court hearing.

There seems to be some confusion about the situation. Earlier reports were that the woman she struck had died, which should lead to a charge of murder rather than attempted murder. The fact she has been charged (so far) with attempted murder suggests either that the other influencer has not been declared dead or that the charge relates to the man who suffered life-changing injuries.

I suppose it's possible that the other influencer is in a deep coma from which she cannot recover or is in effect brain dead, and in either case may be on life support. I know she has a Polish name so the hospital may be keeping her alive to allow her family to travel from Poland to be with her when she physically dies. Dunno. Just working through the possibilities.

It was never claimed by any MSM sources or LE that she had died. On Twitter/X there were screenshots floating around of various insta/TikTok posts by people claiming to be close friends of Klaudia who were stating that she had died.

I'm no doctor but the fact her condition is still described as life-threatening three days after the incident is not giving me much optimism. I hope that's not the case, obviously, but I fear that by the time this gets to trial that the word "attempted" will have been removed from Ms Carrington's indictment. That would of course mean a mandatory life sentence if convicted.
