''Detectives hunting for a violent robber suspected to be the elusive 'Night Watcher' have released a chilling new video with audio in an effort to finally snare him.

The man's voice can be heard in the new CCTV of his latest crime in which he pistol-whipped a 63-year-old woman in a £1.5million jewellery raid near Sevenoaks in Kent.

The armed and masked thief carried out the 'professional' robbery in June last year on the woman, confronting her alone in the front garden of her secluded home.''

Police said their investigation remains ongoing, and the raider is now also being formally linked to at least five other burglaries in Kent since 2016, stealing items worth a total of more than £600,000.

These include:
  • November 2016, Ide Hill - jewellery and watches worth around £60,000;
  • January 2017, Maidstone - jewellery and watches worth around £75,000 along with cash;
  • August 2020, Marden - jewellery and watches more than £100,000 as well as cash;
  • September 2021, Marden - jewellery and watches worth £23,000;
  • January 2022, Shipbourne - jewellery and watches around £400,000 as well as cash.
Police said linguistic experts believe the suspect's accent is of someone from the 'prosperous southern counties'.

"Victims have been threatened with a firearm and restrained with cable ties and ropes."

''Detectives have said they are looking for a stocky or muscular white man of about 6ft (1.8m), with a south of England accent.

Officers believe he may have military training, as he was able to use only one hand to restrain his victims with cable ties, even while they were struggling.

During some robberies he was described by police as "using unnecessary levels of violence". He carries a sawn-off shotgun.''

''Susan Morris suffered a broken jaw when the man attacked her while robbing her home in Kingswood, Surrey, in October 2017.

She described how he pointed a gun in her back, hit her head against a wall and dragged her across the floor by her hair while demanding she hand over more jewellery.''

Or a policeman or ex-policeman.

That video says he knows when they have a second safe and says (wtte) he is prepared to wait as long as it takes for them to take him to it.

That makes me think he might work/have worked for the companies that sell the safes, or delivered them.

Can a disguised voice be reversed so it is their real voice.

I watched a crime show recently and it seemed that the voice was slowed down to disguise it.
Could speeding it up allow the real voice to be heard.

He seemed to know where the safes were located and they had 2 and also the raids seem very targeted to homes that keep very expensive items in the home rather than secured banks storage etc.
I've ran through the possibilities of him being someone who installed the safes to home security installation.
2 professions I can think of that would gives him knowledge of all the above is 1) someone who does valuations, maybe for insurance purposes. 2) security consultant (often ex-military or ex-police). Both these positions could enable him to comes to the homes previous, and be showed the safes and what is in them. JMO
