Police are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of a 19-year-old man who has gone missing from his home in Swindon.

James Phillips was found to be missing at 10am on Friday and police are urgently appealing for information.

He is described as being mixed race, about 5ft 10in tall and of slim build. He has short black hair and he wears glasses.

Anyone who knows where he might be should contact police immediately on 999 quoting log 74.

A huge search operation is ongoing in Swindon after a 19-year-old’s disappearance.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue were tasked with supporting the police in locating James Phillips, who is missing from his address in the Blunsdon area.

He was reported missing at around 10am on Friday, 15 October.

Wiltshire Police say they are “growing increasingly concerned for his welfare” and have launched a full-scale search operation.

Specially trained search volunteers have gathered at the Blunsdon House Hotel, where they are able to begin their second night search.

Earlier today, the National Police Air Service helicopter from Bristol circled the area – searching open areas, including land north of Tadpole Garden Village and south-east of Blunsdon.

James Phillips was reported missing from his Swindon home at 10am on Friday and police are urgently appealing for information.

The Wiltshire Search and Rescue team, which has assisted police since Friday, is being supported by the Berkshire, Hampshire, Staffordshire, West Mercia, Bucks, Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire and Severn Area teams.

Wiltshire Police are "growing increasingly concerned for his welfare".

It is believed he left his house in the Blunsdon area some time between midnight on Thursday and 9am on Friday morning.

Police officers have been working with Wiltshire Search and Rescue to find the 19-year-old, but despite "detailed and extensive searches", he still has not been found.

He is thought to be wearing a black suit, white shirt and black leather shoes.

Just heard the sad news tonight (23/10/21) that a body has been found in a field in the area where he lived. Apparently the police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

A BODY has been found in the search for missing 19-year-old man James Phillips.

The discovery was made in a field in the Blunsdon area earlier today.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, his family have been made aware of the development.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.

"We do not believe there are any suspcious circumstances and a file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.

"We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal and Wiltshire Search and Rescue for their assistance over the last week."

James went missing from his home in Blunsdon since last week.
